The University of Jos has uncovered a credible bomb threat to the institution, calling on relevant heads of units to exercise vigilance.
An internal memo by Acting Chief Security Officer of the university, Agdama Solomon, to all Base Officers, Unit Heads, Officers and Personnel urged them to be on red alert to avert any incident.
The memo called on the security personnel to intensify security measures across university facilities, emphasizing thorough checks on individuals entering and exiting the premises.
The acting security chief also urged personnel to protect all facilities and ensure comprehensive screening of anyone accessing the university environment.
“I write this URGENT memo to notify you of a bomb threat in Jos, particularly targeting University of Jos.
“Based on the security alert and information received, all Heads of Bases, Heads of Units and all personnel are to be on red alert and vigilant.
“Please let’s take note and protect all facilities in our charge. All persons entering and exiting the premises of the University are to be searched properly to avoid falling victims,” the memo read.
