NAF graduates 1,296 recruits to boost mission-ready force

The Nigerian Air Force has graduated 1,296 recruits following the completion of the Basic Military Training Course 45/2025, marking their formal induction into the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The development was disclosed in a press statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, quoting the Chief of the Air Staff, Sunday Kelvin Aneke.

According to the statement, the Passing Out Parade was held on December 20, 2025, and reviewed by the CAS, who described the event as a major milestone for both the graduates and the Service. Aneke said the strength of the Nigerian Air Force depends largely on the discipline, professionalism and quality of its personnel.

He explained that the successful completion of the six-month training programme aligns with his command philosophy of building a highly motivated and mission-ready force capable of supporting national security operations, including counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism efforts across the country.

The CAS also highlighted the role of the Military Training Centre in shaping disciplined and professional airmen and airwomen, describing it as the foundation of military excellence in the NAF. He commended the commandant, instructors and training staff for maintaining high standards throughout the course, as well as the Air Officer Commanding Ground Training Command, Air Vice Marshal Shinkafi, for effective oversight.

Addressing the graduating recruits, Aneke said the rigorous physical and mental demands of the training were deliberate to prepare them for the realities of military service. He urged them to uphold discipline, teamwork and a strong sense of duty, while thanking their families for the support that contributed to their success.

He further noted that the new recruits are joining the Service at a time of complex security challenges, including terrorism and banditry, stressing the need for professionalism, adaptability and continuous learning as the NAF operates advanced platforms.

The CAS expressed appreciation to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his continued support to the Nigerian Air Force. He also thanked the Kaduna State Government, sister Services, security agencies and partner institutions for their contributions to NAF training.

Highlights of the ceremony included a precision parade by the recruits and the presentation of awards to outstanding performers, with C-130 Squadron emerging as the Champion Squadron.
