The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPC Ltd, says it has successfully restored the Escravos–Lagos Pipeline system in Warri, Delta State, to full operations.
Spokesperson of the Company, Mr. Andy Odeh, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, recalling the unexpected fire outbreak that occurred at the facility on December 10, 2025, prompting the immediate activation of emergency response measures.
According to the statement, NNPC Ltd promptly deployed coordinated containment efforts and mobilised multidisciplinary technical teams to address the incident.
“Following the unexpected explosion on December 10, 2025, we immediately activated our emergency response, deployed coordinated containment measures, and worked tirelessly with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the damaged section was repaired, pressure-tested, and safely recommissioned.
“Today, the pipeline is fully operational, reaffirming our resilience and commitment to energy security,” the statement read.
NNPC Ltd acknowledged the contributions of key stakeholders to the successful restoration of the facility, noting that the achievement was driven by collective effort.
“This achievement was made possible through the unwavering support of our host communities, the guidance of regulators, the vigilance of security agencies, and the dedication of our partners and staff,” the company stated.
It added that the swift restoration of the pipeline turned a challenging incident into a success story, achieved in record time while maintaining the highest standards of safety and environmental stewardship.
NNPC Ltd further reaffirmed its commitment to environmental protection, community safety, and the integrity and reliability of its assets, as it continues to support Nigeria’s energy security and economic development.
