The All Progressives Congress has commended the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, for what it described as purposeful leadership and the delivery of key infrastructure projects across the state.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday and signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC praised the governor for initiating major flyover projects aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving road safety in Delta State.
The party specifically referenced the ground-breaking of the Uromi Junction Flyover at Agbor in Ika South Local Government Area, which it said was performed on January 19, 2026.
According to the APC, the project, valued at ₦59.7bn and awarded to Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, is expected to be completed within 14 months and would address what it described as a long-standing and accident-prone interchange in the area.
The party said the flyover would not only benefit residents of Agbor and Ika communities but also road users nationwide, noting that the junction serves as a major link connecting the East, West, North and South-South regions of the country.
The APC also recalled that the Agbor project came barely a week after the governor flagged off the ₦39.3bn Otovwodo Junction Flyover in Ughelli North Local Government Area, adding that flyover projects at PTI Junction, DSC Roundabout and Enerhen Junction had brought the number of ongoing flyovers in the state to five.
Beyond infrastructure, the party said the Oborevwori administration had recorded progress in other sectors, including the payment of pension and gratuity arrears, support for micro, small and medium enterprises, monthly stipends for widows, increased funding for tertiary institutions and improved healthcare facilities.
The statement further linked the state’s capacity to fund development projects to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, attributing improved federal allocations to ongoing economic reforms.
The APC also referenced Governor Oborevwori’s defection from the Peoples Democratic Party to the APC in April 2025, describing the move as one that had strengthened support for the President’s economic agenda.
The party urged the governor to sustain what it described as the effective deployment of state resources for the benefit of residents of Delta State.
