PCAN tasks international community on citizens based collaborations

By Chuks NZEH

‎“‎The Convener of the Presidential Call for Advanced Nigeria, PCAN, Ambassador Prince Jeffrey S. Adaralegbe, has urged the International Community to engage Nigeria on citizens’ based collaborations to enhance unity among the diversed orientations that makes up the people of Nigeria.

He made this known during an empowerment mission to Kabusa in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, FCT, where he spoke on national rebirth, collective responsibility and inclusive development. The event was enriched with practical show of love, as the PCAN team distributed food stuffs, and wrappers to widows and aged women in the community.

‎Adaralegbe noted “We urge the international community to forge a more robust and citizens-focused collaboration that strengthens Nigerians across board and brings us closer together”

He added that Nigeria’s progress depends largely on the ability of its citizens to promote peace and unity across ethnic, cultural and religious lines, adding that diversity should be seen as strength rather than a source of division.

‎“As a people with positive mindsets, we must run again with the factors of unity and peace, which are key to bringing prosperity and advancement to our dear nation, Nigeria,” he noted.

He appreciated HRH Samuel Kpowu, Sarki Dakachi Kabusa, Abuja, for the fatherly role he plays within his community and his quest to strengthen the unity of all residents of the community, regardless of where they come from or what they believe in.

The PCAN Convener also called on the media to play a more active role in national cohesion by highlighting stories of inter-ethnic cooperation and debunking negative stereotypes. He equally called on law enforcement agencies and government institutions to uphold impartiality and ensure equitable treatment of all Nigerians.

‎Adaralegbe described the call for an advanced and prosperous Nigeria as a collective responsibility that must be embraced by Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.

‎“The advancement of our great motherland is a vision and a collective aspiration. It should remind us to rediscover our essence, potentials and significance as individuals and as a diverse people in a rapidly changing global community,” he said.

‎He reaffirmed the commitment of PCAN members to remain patriotic ambassadors of peace and unity, stressing that national development requires a change in attitude and narrative.

‎“You do not curse the land and expect her blessings. Let us wake up and together make Nigeria greater again” he added.

‎Adaralegbe explained that the Presidential Call for Advanced Nigeria is a social orientation campaign designed to change the negative public narrative of a non-working Nigeria to that of a patriotic, progressive, caring and citizens-centred nation.

‎He said the initiative seeks to mobilise Nigerians through mass communication, moral and cultural alignment across faiths, and ideological reorientation aimed at repositioning Nigeria for leadership in the comity of nations.

‎“Our mission is to remain the most admired advocates of Nigeria’s advancement and the achievements of Nigerians. Our vision is to see Nigeria take her rightful place of leadership globally,” he said.
