A retired Director in the Federal Capital Territory Administration, TPL Mukhtar Galadima, has backed the decision of Governor, Agbu Kefas, to align with the All Progressives Congress, APC, saying the move positions Taraba State to attract more federal projects and development.
Speaking with journalists over the weekend, Galadima, described Governor Kefas as a smart and dynamic leader whose focus on innovation has begun to reshape Taraba’s development trajectory.
Galadima, who is currently the Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Development Control and Planning, said the governor’s decision to work closely with the federal government shows a commitment to securing tangible benefits for the state.
He used the opportunity to confirmed his intention to contest the Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, saying his aspiration is driven by what he called a glaring absence of participatory democracy in the area.
According to him, elected officials must be accountable and must carry the people along in governance. He lamented that while other constituencies are benefiting from federal intervention projects, Wukari/Ibi has been largely sidelined.
The former director said his years of administrative experience at the FCTA and the network he built in public service place him in a strong position to reposition the constituency. He insisted he is coming into the race with the capacity to unlock development.
He therefore appealed to the people of Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency to support his ambition, noting that collective effort is required to deliver the level of change the area deserves.
Galadima said the constituency remains burdened by hardship despite its agricultural potential. He however expressed confidence that, if given the mandate, Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency would witness a new dawn.
