Keffi LG chairman sacks council secretary over Facebook post

The Executive Chairman of Keffi Local Government Council, Dr. Idris Ahmed Damagani, has terminated the appointment of the Council Secretary, Dr. Ibrahim Bala Moscolo, over a controversial Facebook post.
The termination was conveyed in a letter signed by the council’s Director of Administration and Personnel Management, DPM, Usman Zubairu Egya.
The letter stated that the decision followed a query issued to Moscolo concerning comments he allegedly made on January 11, 2026, to which he reportedly failed to respond within the stipulated time.
According to the council, the social media comments were considered unethical and worrisome, and were deemed capable of undermining peaceful coexistence within the area and the All Progressives Congress, APC, at both local and state levels.
The letter further described the remarks as disrespectful to constituted authorities, elders, and party stakeholders, adding that such conduct was unacceptable.
Moscolo, a seasoned estate surveyor and valuer, had recently aligned himself with former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, in the race for the APC ticket ahead of the 2027 Nasarawa State governorship election.
His position reportedly runs counter to ongoing zoning advocacy championed by stakeholders of the ruling party in Nasarawa West, led by the state’s first Executive Governor and former National Chairman of the APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.
Moscolo had, however, argued for a level playing field for all aspirants, opposing what he described as arrangements that benefit only a select few while leaving many citizens without access to basic amenities.
