Nigeria’s Council of Legal Education has released the results of the December 2025 Bar Final Examinations, revealing that 1,067 candidates failed while 212 achieved First Class honours.
According to a public notice issued by the Council from the Nigerian Law School headquarters in Bwari, Abuja, a total of 7,602 candidates sat for the examinations, with an overall pass rate of 79.1 per cent.
A breakdown of the results shows that 1,216 candidates obtained Second Class Upper division, while 2,961 earned Second Class Lower.
In addition, 1,622 candidates recorded a Pass, and 314 were awarded Conditional Pass. The Council also noted that 210 candidates were absent from the examinations.
In the notice signed by the Secretary to the Council and Director of Administration, the Council congratulated successful candidates.
“The Council of Legal Education warmly congratulates all successful candidates on this significant achievement. Your hard work, dedication, and perseverance have yielded commendable results,” it said.
The body also assured candidates that further details regarding the next stage of their professional journey would be communicated in due course.
“Information regarding the screening process and the schedule for the Call to the Bar ceremony will be communicated to candidates via their individual portals on the Nigerian Law School website,” the notice added.
