Nigeria’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the State of Israel, Ambassador Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu, has formally assumed office after presenting her Letters of Credence to Israeli President Isaac Herzog at an official ceremony in Jerusalem.
The presentation of the Letters of Credence, which took place on Monday, officially marks the commencement of Ambassador Ufochukwu’s diplomatic assignment and underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening the longstanding cordial relations between Nigeria and Israel.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the ceremony reaffirmed Nigeria’s resolve to deepen its strategic partnership with Israel and expand cooperation in key sectors of mutual interest.
Speaking after the ceremony, Ambassador Ufochukwu pledged to advance Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives by fostering closer bilateral engagement.
She expressed her determination to deepen collaboration between both countries throughout her tenure.
The envoy said her mission would prioritise enhanced cooperation in trade and investment, agriculture, technology, security, innovation and cultural exchanges, while also promoting stronger people-to-people ties for the mutual benefit of Nigeria and Israel.
The Ministry expressed confidence that Ambassador Ufochukwu’s appointment would further consolidate the strategic partnership between the two countries, create new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation, and support sustainable development initiatives.
