Newly appointed Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, Prof. Segun Aina, has unveiled a seven-point reform agenda aimed at fast-tracking the Board’s digital transformation, strengthening information security and improving service delivery to millions of candidates and other stakeholders.
Aina unveiled the ambitious programme on his first day in office as part of the “JAMB 2031: Building Trust, Reducing Trauma” agenda, designed to make the Board more efficient, technologically driven, transparent and responsive over the next five years.
According to JAMB’s Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Registrar said the seven flagship initiatives would translate his vision into measurable outcomes, while consolidating the gains recorded by the Board and positioning it as Africa’s most trusted and innovative assessment and admissions institution.
The seven initiatives include a comprehensive independent review of JAMB’s technology infrastructure to enhance system resilience and efficiency; the attainment of ISO 27001 Information Security Certification to strengthen data protection and public confidence; and the development of a unified JAMB Mobile App to provide candidates and stakeholders with seamless access to the Board’s services.
Others are the implementation of a strategic communication and brand repositioning programme to improve public engagement; the establishment of a unified customer service platform to ensure faster and more responsive support; the deployment of a fully paperless enterprise-wide digital administration system to improve operational efficiency; and enhanced staff welfare and capacity development to equip employees with the skills required to drive the Board’s digital future.
Aina said the initiatives are intended to build a more secure, digitally integrated and customer-focused institution capable of delivering world-class assessment and admissions services.
He stressed that while technology would remain the backbone of the reforms, the Board would continue to place candidates at the centre of its operations, noting that every registration represents the hopes and aspirations of a Nigerian family.
The Registrar reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening public trust, institutional integrity and innovation, while ensuring that JAMB continues to set the benchmark for transparent, technology-driven examination and admissions administration in Africa.
