The Federal Capital Territory Administration said is taking steps towards enhancing educational service delivery within the territory through the induction of new desk officers across public schools.
At a ceremony attended by the Head of Service FCTA, Dr. Samuel Atang and other key stakeholders, the administration said the development marked a crucial milestone in the administration’s efforts to transform the FCT into a globally competitive city.
While emphasising the critical role teachers play in realizing the vision of establishing a world-class city, the Head of Service pointed that the new desk officers are expected to be at the forefront of improving services within FCT schools.
The FCT Head of Service also reiterated the FCTA’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding hard work and excellence through the launch of the FCTA Annual Staff Recognition and Award Ceremony as a testament to this pledge.
On her part, the National Coordinator/CEO of SERVICOM, Nnenna Akajemeli, emphasized the importance of continuous capacity building and urged the FCT management to fully support the service improvement process in schools.
She called for regular training and retraining of staff to ensure sustained service quality and effective management of customer experiences.
The ceremony also featured remarks from Mr. Prosper Ibe, the Permanent Secretary of the FCTA Education Secretariat, who described the induction as a milestone in the ongoing effort to elevate the quality of education in the FCT.
He encouraged the desk officers to uphold the principles of accountability, transparency, courtesy, and integrity.
Earlier, the Director at the Office of the Head of the Civil Service and nodal officer MSU, FCT, Funmilayo Kayode, discussed the role of the inductees in advancing educational service delivery.
She linked their induction to the FCT Administration’s goal of ranking among the top 20 cities worldwide, and charged them with the responsibility of enhancing the educational framework to meet and exceed community and government expectations.
The ceremony marks a significant step in the FCT’s efforts to improve the quality of education and service delivery, reflecting a broader commitment to governance excellence and educational empowerment in the Federal Capital Territory.
