The Federal Government has entered into a strategic partnership with Big Win Philanthropy to promote data-driven development in Nigeria’s creative sector.
According to a statement signed by Nneka Ikem Anibeze, Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Barr. Hannatu Musa Musawa, the collaboration was sealed during an inter-ministerial roundtable involving key ministries and stakeholders.
A major highlight of the meeting was the introduction of the D30 Data Platform and Mapping, a tool expected to drive innovation and foster measurable progress in the creative industry.
“I commend Big Win’s collaborative effort in developing this platform,” Musawa said. “The data mapping initiative is crucial to understanding and promoting growth in the creative economy.”
She further outlined her Ministry’s 8-point agenda and 14 key initiatives, which include a proposed Intellectual Property Monetization Framework, access to a $200 million AfreximBank fund, and partnerships with the French Treasury to establish creative hubs.
The roundtable also featured input from the Minister of State for Education, Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad, and the Minister of Youth Development, Hon. Ayodele Olawande, who spoke on STEM education, skills development, and youth-targeted programmes.
Prior to the meeting, the President of Big Win Philanthropy, Jamie Cooper, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa.
The Vice President reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to supporting the initiative and strengthening the partnership with Big Win. He noted that the collaboration aligns with the government’s goal of driving impact-focused governance in the creative economy.
The Ministry is set to host a stakeholder roundtable in May 2025 to unveil the national data mapping initiative and deepen engagement with industry players.
