Ododo tours projects in Kogi Central, vows quality delivery

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has wrapped up a five-day inspection of ongoing road and infrastructure projects across the five local government areas of Kogi Central Senatorial District, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to equitable development across the state.

The tour covered Adavi, Ajaokuta, Okehi, Okene, and Ogori-Magongo LGAs, as part of his “Take Governance Closer to the People” initiative.

During the visit, Governor Ododo inspected key projects including the 8.6km Obangede–Okaito road, the 3.2km Obangede–Oboroke road, and several access roads in Adavi and Okehi. He also assessed the reconstruction of the over 60-year-old Ategoza bridge and the Oziokutu bridge, both vital links in the region’s road network.

He stressed the importance of quality work and warned contractors against delivering substandard projects.

“The people of Kogi State deserve quality infrastructure. We will not tolerate anything less,” Ododo said in Adavi.

Beyond inspections, the governor met with residents, traditional rulers, and stakeholders. In Ogori-Magongo, he attended the Ovia Osese Festival and pledged support for cultural revival to boost unity and tourism.

He also held town hall meetings in Okene and Adavi, where he promised to address youth unemployment and women’s empowerment. In Ajaokuta, he condoled with Hon. Sanni Abdulraheem over the loss of his mother and pledged to complete ongoing projects in the area.

Ododo called for community support in protecting public infrastructure and urged wealthy citizens to contribute to local development.

He assured residents that similar project inspections and interventions were ongoing in Kogi East and Kogi West to ensure no part of the state is left behind.
