Security agencies to hold route march Friday in Abuja

The Defence Headquarters has announced that the Armed Forces and other security agencies will carry out a route march exercise in Abuja on Friday, 10 October 2025.

In a statement by the Director of Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, the exercise will begin at 5:00 a.m., starting from Aguiyi Ironsi Cantonment football field, passing through Mambilla Barracks and Niger Barracks, before returning to the cantonment.

The Defence Headquarters said the march is a routine fitness exercise to promote teamwork, physical readiness, and unity among members of the Armed Forces and other security agencies.

Residents, especially road users within the Asokoro–AYA axis, have been advised to take alternative routes as officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps and other traffic agencies will be on ground to manage traffic.

The Defence Headquarters appealed for public understanding and apologized for any inconvenience caused by the temporary road diversion.
