The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has dismissed the viral social media reports of a purported assassination attempt on Lt. Ahmed Yerima in Abuja.
A statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command on Sunday, described the claim as false and said no such incident had been reported or recorded anywhere in the territory.
Part of the statement reads, “The Command wishes to categorically state that no such incident has been reported or recorded anywhere within the Federal Capital Territory.
“The public is advised to disregard this false information and desist from spreading unverified claims capable of causing unnecessary panic.”
The police further urged residents to stay alert and report suspicious activities to the nearest police division or contact the Command headquarters via its emergency lines, 08032003913 and 08068587311, for prompt response.
