New Year: Ododo restates commitment to shared prosperity in Kogi

Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to economic growth, improved welfare and inclusive development for residents of the state.

In a New Year message issued on January 1, 2026, and signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Ismaila Isah, the governor reflected on the progress recorded in 2025, noting steady improvements in the state’s economy and policies targeted at raising the standard of living of Kogites.

Ododo described 2026 as a decisive year for Kogi State, saying the administration will be guided by the recently passed Budget of Shared Prosperity, which prioritises agriculture, education, health, security and job creation.

The governor assured residents that his government would sustain economic growth by supporting local industries, empowering youths, strengthening healthcare delivery and improving infrastructure across the state.

He also stressed the importance of fiscal discipline and transparent governance, saying prudent management of public resources remains key to delivering meaningful development that benefits all citizens.

Calling for unity, resilience and law-abiding conduct, Ododo said shared prosperity can only be achieved through collective effort and peaceful coexistence.

The governor further prayed for peace, good health and success for residents in the new year, reaffirming his administration’s resolve to deliver policies and programmes that positively impact lives across the state.
