Tinubu Says France-Nigeria Partnership Enters Action Phase

President Bola Tinubu says Nigeria’s economic partnership with France has moved beyond discussions to implementation following the 10th France-Nigeria Business Council meeting held in Nairobi, Kenya.

The meeting, which took place during the Africa Forward Summit, brought together top government officials and private sector leaders from both countries to discuss investment opportunities and economic cooperation.

According to the Presidency, trade between Nigeria and France rose to four point seven billion dollars in 2025, with Nigeria remaining the leading destination for French investment in sub-Saharan Africa.

President Tinubu says the focus is now on translating agreements into jobs, industrial growth, infrastructure development and broader economic benefits for Nigerians.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, France’s Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade, Nicolas Forissier, as well as leading business figures including Aliko Dangote, Tony Elumelu, Abdul Samad Rabiu and Wale Tinubu.

International business executives such as Patrick Pouyanné of TotalEnergies and Rodolphe Saadé of CMA CGM were also present.

President Tinubu also welcomed the partnership between Accor and Shoreline Group to develop Nigeria’s first national hotel platform, describing it as a strong sign of investor confidence in the country’s tourism and hospitality sector.

The President says his administration will continue reforms aimed at improving the business environment and attracting credible investors into key sectors of the economy.
