Julius Berger Nigeria Plc and the Lagos State Water Corporation have begun discussions on strengthening collaboration in the development of water and road infrastructus Lagos State.
The discussions took place on Wednesday during a courtesy visit by the management of the Lagos State Water Corporation to Julius Berger’s regional office in Ijora, Lagos.
The two organisations explored ways to improve coordination between water and road infrastructure planning to promote more resilient and sustainable infrastructure development in the state.
Julius Berger’s Regional Commercial Manager, Alexander Bauer, said closer cooperation between both organisations would create opportunities for technical support and improved project delivery.
Bauer said early engagement and proper coordination were necessary to prevent disruptions to critical infrastructure and ensure long-term value for communities.
He noted that Lagos State and the Federal Ministry of Works remained among Julius Berger’s major infrastructure clients, making effective coordination with relevant public institutions important for the successful execution of projects.
The Managing Director of the Lagos State Water Corporation, Mukhtaar Temitope Tijani, who led the delegation, described the visit as a relationship-building initiative aimed at strengthening ties between the two organisations.
Tijani said better cooperation would help both institutions coordinate projects, particularly where road construction intersects with existing water infrastructure.
He explained that stronger communication would also help identify and protect critical water pipelines during road and other infrastructure works, particularly in Lagos Island and surrounding areas.
The LSWC managing director said the engagement was also intended to deepen institutional understanding, strengthen professional relationships and create a platform for future collaboration between the two organisations.
