By Sarah NEGEDU

Despite the current spate of insecurity and a steady decline of the naira, an FCT law maker, Hon Micah Jiba, says Nigeria is still ahead of other countries battling civil wars and other forms of social unrest.

The lawmaker representing the Bwari/AMAC federal constituency of the FCT in the Federal House of Representatives, said 61 years of nationhood should not be underrated giving the number of countries that have since disintegrated before achieving the golden jubilee.

Jiba, who, stated this at a wedding ceremony of held at the Goshen city over the weekend, therefore called on Nigerians to pray for sustained peace, while shunning any act that can cause disharmony among the different ethnic groups.

“As Nigerians, we have to be up and doing and change our attitude by shunning any act that divides us. We should always sit and discuss our differences and whatever we think isn’t working for us.”

On his part, a former AMAC Chairman and member of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Zephaniah Jisalo, noted that having happy marriages will help build a happier society.

He noted that children from happy homes will pave way for the proper development of future leaders of the society.

He advised the couple, Mr. and Mrs Joseph Adamu, to effectively maximise love and communication skills to help them build a happy marriage.

On his part, Pastor Ezekiel Adegboyega of the Living Faith Church, Goshen city, while officiating the wedding said love and communication is required for building happy marriages.

Explaining that both love and communication are cardinal tools required for a happy marriage, given that it is like a house that is built upon a foundation, the clergyman urged couple to always carry Almighty God’s perspective on marriage
