Former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and now Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, is replicating the quality of infrastructure found in the FCT in his home state to enable it compete favourably with its counterparts.
Government officials in the state say most uncompleted infrastructure projects embarked by the former administration, were substandard and so the decision to upgrade them by the present government.
The designated Master of Ceremony in the Bauchi State Government House, Malam Chadi Muhammad, said the governor will at all times demand value for every public funds disbursed, and will always frown at substandard projects.
Chadi stated this over the weekend, during a project tour by the FCT Minister’s Press Corps who were in the State for its annual Media Retreat,
He said Governor Bala Muhammad emphatically told the contractors to adhere to Abuja standard, noting that Bauchi State needs the best, and that there must be commensurate value for money spent.
One of such projects, which the government said it has executed in Bauchi, include the 63m dollars water project.
Also speaking, the Director Engineering Services, Bauchi Ministry of Works, Mohammed Garba, explained that the infrastructural development were not concentrated in a zone, but spread across all emirates in the state.
Garba added that the accelerated development was meant to make life easier for the people of the state, while also boosting economic activities.
He added that “the 13.5km Warji-Gwaram road has been completed, alongside the Boi-Taoshin road, the dualization of Awala round-about and the Miri -Jos road, among many other road projects have all been completed.”
