I welcome all the readers of our weekly Monday Nugget to a great and fabulous year.
Our topic today is the greeting in Latin that reverberated across the globe, ‘Happy New Year’ to you all.
However, the Psalmist prayer and request is my prayers for you and your entire family this great year.
Starting with ‘teach us’, it means that we are unlearned about this New Year and we need God’s help and intervention in the year.
2023 is gone forever and I personally had some losses and gains, just like you did in the just concluded year.
I lost two dear family members (my spiritual father in the person of Pastor Taiwo Daniel Odukoya and my eldest brother in the person of Bamidele Olupitan) and I told both of them ‘Annus Novus’ last year but I can’t talk with them anymore till eternity.
I had some gains from our Church’s 20th Anniversary (it’s not easy to establish an organisation and see it growing), my trip to Israel with my Resident Pastor, meeting new friends and having a turnaround meeting with my siblings after many years that we had seen each other. May the name of God Almighty be praised.
I want you to get this fact right my dear readers. The truth is that there is nothing new under heaven, so in 2024, there will be practically repetition of things that has happened in the past;
Gains and losses, promotions and demotions, life and deaths etc. Since we are not programmed to live in this world forever, some people will be born while some will exit as a normal cycle, but if you’re less than 80years, you are going nowhere in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
Remember that as you are planning to relocate out of Nigeria – for those planning to, some Nigerians abroad are also coming back home after several years of living abroad simply because there is no place like home. The truth be told, multitudes are in the valley of decisions!
Don’t just run into the year like the fast animal (Cheetah), but take time to seek the face of the One who sees, knows and can deliver you from today to the last day of the year and even into eternity.
Deepen your walk with God, depend on the leading of the Holy Spirit, act on God’s instructions and you won’t labour in vain.
This year 2024, more souls will be added to the kingdom of God and you can be part of the vessels that God Almighty will use either physically or through your resources.
New things that will bring joy will come your way in 2024. There will be major reconciliation and restoration, which will usher in peace in certain turbulent regions of the world and greater things shall happen to us all in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
In closing, as you begin to number your days, you will begin to apply your heart to wisdom.
Trust God for His strength for everything, His guidance and leadership. See the end of the year 2024 from now as a greater and well fulfilled year and remarkable achievements coming your way again and again.
Also, if you have asked God to ‘teach you’, then be willing to follow His leading and it shall be well with you in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
