In a bid to foster solidarity and tackle economic challenges in Kogi State, Hajiya Sefinat Usman Ododo, the First Lady of Kogi State, hosted a Ramadan Iftar for wives of government officials and female appointees.
The event took place at the Government House in Lokoja.
During the event, Hajiya Sefinat Ododo emphasized the need for collective support in addressing the welfare issues faced by the people of Kogi State under the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

She acknowledged the governor’s commitment to the welfare of the people and urged the wives of government officials and women in government to support the administration’s efforts in reducing the economic burden on the people.
Hajiya Sefinat Ododo also expressed her passion for the wellbeing of women, girl child education, and support for vulnerable members of society. She highlighted her commitment to the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) of the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
Additionally, Hajiya Sefinat Ododo mentioned that the government would continue to support indigent women, including widows and orphans, by providing them with access to vocational education and life-changing skills. She encouraged the women present to embrace the lessons of Ramadan, including forgiveness, caring for the less privileged, and generous giving for the sake of Allah.

The event concluded with special prayers led by Muslim leaders in the state, including the chief Imam of the Kogi State Government House Mosque, Alhaji Bashir Musa. The prayers were offered for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, the immediate past Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, and their families, as well as the citizens of the state.
