Mahmoud tasks media on security reportage

The media in Nigeria have been asked to beam its spots light on the issue of security and flooding devastating parts of the country.

FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, who gave the charged when she received the management of Nigeria Television Authority, Channel 5, in her office, asked the team to explore new opportunities for collaboration especially in the areas of security and flooding.

She noted that residents in hard to reach communities should be well informed about the impact of flooding and security challenges in recent times.

Mahmoud, expressed appreciation for the robust relationship the administration has enjoyed with the NTA, noting that the station has continued to provide quality information in the media landscape.

According to her; “First, I want to express our sincere appreciation for the enduring relationship we have enjoyed with the Nigeria Television Authority, NTA, the largest network in Africa.

“To state the obvious, the NTA has continued to provide quality information in the media landscape and we are truly grateful for your service to our residents at the grassroots.

“For us, our partnership has been a cornerstone of our mutual success, and we are grateful for the support and collaboration we have experienced over the years through your accurate reportage.

“Let me assure you that as we look towards the future, we are keen to further strengthen our relationship and explore new opportunities for collaboration especially in the areas of security and flooding.”

The minister expressed the hope that significant potential would enhance the joint efforts and achieve even greater outcomes in areas of security and flooding.

Earlier in his remarks, the General Manager NTA Channel 5, Mr. Paul Atte, noted that the station had in the past enjoyed fruitful relationship with the FCT Administration, just as he appealed for a stronger collaboration.

He pledged that despite the current challenges facing the station, the NTA Channel 5 will still uphold its standard as a “unity station”.

USA, France, others send entries for Zuma festival

A total of 3,120 entries have so far been received from across the globe, to participate in the 14th edition of the Zuma International Film Festival, ZUFF, in Abuja, the Nigerian Film Corporation
