Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, on Friday, paid a condolence visit to the family of late elder statesman and nationalist, Chief Edwin Clark.
Atiku, who was accompanied by immediate past Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, offered prayers for the family, acknowledging Clark’s lifelong dedication to a united Nigeria.
The former Vice President emphasized that Clark’s passing was not just a personal loss to his family, PANDEF, and the Niger Delta but to the entire nation, which he considered his constituency.
“The best way to honor his legacy. is for our leaders to uphold the values of unity and inclusiveness that he championed throughout his life,” Atiku stated.
Clark passed away on Monday at the age of 97 having served Nigeria as a former minister of finance, leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, prominent Ijaw leader and nationalist.
