The Federal Capital Territory Administration through its Health Services and Environment Secretariat, HS&ES, has rolled out Sexual, Reproductive, Maternal, and Newborn Health, SRMNH, training programme for healthcare professionals.
The programme, which is in partnership with the Clinton Health Access Initiative, CHAI, aims to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality rates in the territory.
A statement posted on the social media handles of the Health Services Secretariat disclosed that the initiative is also expected to upgrade healthcare workers’ skills in delivering essential services at Primary Health Care centers and secondary facilities.
In addition, the initiative also aims to empower women to make informed reproductive choices through increased awareness.
The Health Services and Environment Secretariat explained that, “By strengthening the capacity of healthcare workers, we’re poised to make a significant impact on reproductive and maternal healthcare in the FCT.”
