The National Examinations Council, NECO, has announced the release of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination, BECE, results.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Mr. Azeez Sani, disclosed that a total of 179,201 candidates registered for the examination nationwide in 12 subjects.
The examination, which commenced on May 12, was successfully concluded on May 23, 2025.
According to NECO, the results were released following the successful conclusion of the 2025 BECE Award Committee Meeting held at the Council’s headquarters in Minna, Niger State.
Chairperson of the Award Committee, Mrs. Folake Olatunji-David, Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education, expressed satisfaction with the conduct and processes leading to the timely release of the results.
The Award Committee meeting was attended by representatives of NECO management and selected secondary school principals from across the country.
Meanwhile, the committee has approved the timetable for the 2025 BECE Re-sit Examination, which will be held on July 23 and 24, exclusively for Mathematics and English Studies.
