FCTA pegs 2026 Hajj fare at N8.24m

The Federal Capital Territory Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has fixed the fare for the 2026 Hajj at N8,244,813.67 and urged intending pilgrims to complete their payments before the end of December.

Director of the Board, Mallam Kadiri Edah, in a statement on Monday, warned that only those who pay up before the deadline will be guaranteed a seat for the pilgrimage.

The statement signed by the PRO, FCT-MPWB, Muhammad Aliyu, explained that while deposits are allowed, full payment must be made before the cut-off date, stressing that all transactions must be carried out strictly through bank drafts as cash will not be accepted.

“The deadline will enable the Board to compile the actual list of intending pilgrims and remit funds to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON,” Edah said.

The Director further advised those who have paid above the approved fare to submit their account details to the Board for refunds, noting that such refunds will only be made directly into the pilgrims’ bank accounts.

He also directed those who have already completed payments to forward their international passports and completed forms to their respective Area Officers for processing of travel documents ahead of the journey.

Edah assured that the Board remains committed to delivering the best services to the FCT contingent in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the current administration.
