The Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council, Christopher Maikalangu, has extended Eid-el-Fitr greetings to Muslims, urging continued prayers for Nigeria and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
In a Sallah message on Friday, Maikalangu congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of Ramadan, calling on residents to sustain the values of piety, sacrifice and discipline imbibed during the fasting period.
He said the development of the Federal Capital Territory required both spiritual and collective support from residents.
The AMAC chairman also expressed gratitude to Wike for his support and mentorship, noting that the minister played a key role in his re-election.
“As we celebrate this joyous occasion, I want to specially thank my mentor, the FCT Minister, for his leadership and for standing by us.
“His support was instrumental in our recent re-election victory, a mandate we hold sacred as we continue delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of AMAC,” he said.
Maikalangu further urged residents to pray for the minister, describing ongoing infrastructural projects in the FCT as a reflection of Wike’s vision and commitment.
He also commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing Wike, stating that the decision had helped bridge the gap between government and the grassroots.
According to him, visible developments across the FCT align with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, pledging to focus on rural development in his second term.
He urged residents to celebrate peacefully and continue to pray for the progress of AMAC, the FCT and the country.
