The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, NCDC, has limited the completion of Health Declaration Forms to travellers from countries with active or relevant Ebola Virus Disease, EVD, transmission.
The Centre, in an interim public health advisory issued by its Director-General, Dr. Jide Idris, on Tuesday, said passengers from all other countries are currently exempt from completing the form.
According to Idris, the measure follows an updated assessment of the Ebola situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and consultations with public health experts and the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.

It said said the declaration forms are part of enhanced surveillance and follow-up measures for passengers considered to be of public health interest.
It urged Nigerians to remain vigilant for symptoms consistent with Ebola and to promptly seek medical attention, particularly where there is a relevant travel or exposure history.
The NCDC added that the measures would be reviewed as the epidemiological situation evolves and based on further public health risk assessments.
Since May 2026, over 7,400 Ebola case have been confirmed in the Democratic Republic of Congo with more than 3,700 recorded deaths, making the ongoing Ebola outbreak in that country the deadliest.
