Sallah: Ododo preaches peace, unity,sacrifice

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has urged Muslims to use the Eid-el-Kabir celebration to promote unity, sacrifice, and compassion as taught by Prophet Ibrahim.

Speaking at the Okene Central Eid Ground on Sunday, Governor Ododo said the festival is a reminder of the values of obedience to God, peaceful coexistence, and service to humanity.

“Let us continue to be good examples of peace and unity. We can only grow as a people when we live in harmony and mutual respect,” the governor said.

He also called on Muslims to embrace integrity, generosity, and a spirit of sacrifice, especially during the festive season.

Ododo assured that his administration remains committed to inclusive governance and improving the welfare of all residents, regardless of their religion or background.

He asked the people of Kogi and Nigerians to continue to pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose Renewed Hope Agenda he said is paving the way for a better Nigeria.

The governor said his government is focused on strengthening security, boosting infrastructure, supporting farmers and traders, and improving education and healthcare across the state.

He added that efforts are ongoing to promote job creation, industrial growth, and rural development to ensure no part of Kogi is left out.

Governor Ododo was joined at the Eid ground by former Governor Yahaya Bello, Chief of Staff Alhaji Ali Bello, APC State Chairman Alhaji Abdullahi Bello, and other senior officials.
