Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has appointed former Director of Development Control, Mukhtar Galadima, as Senior Special Assistant on Development Control and Planning.
The development was announced on Wednesday night, by the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka.
Galadima retired in November 2025 after more than 30 years of service in the FCT Administration, where he rose through the ranks before becoming an Acting Director of the Department of Development Control in 2016.
Olayinka, in a statement said “The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike has appointed Town Planner Mukhtar Usman Galadima as the Senior Special Assistant on Development Control and Planning.”
Olayinka described Galadima as “a seasoned Town Planner, with over 30 years of experience in the FCTA Department of Development Control (Abuja Metropolitan Management Council) and Satellite Towns Development Agency.”
Before his retirement, Galadima was a member of several key ministerial committees, including the Abuja Masterplan Restoration Task Team, the Review of Revoked Titles, and the Committee on Change of Land Use.
The seasoned Town Planner is also an alumnus of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS, Kuru, where he bagged the prestigious Member of the National Institute, MNI, designation.
According to the statement, “The appointment takes immediate effect.”
