Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have engaged and defeated terrorists in coordinated dawn operations across parts of the North-East, killing several insurgents and recovering arms and ammunition.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Sani Uba.
According to the statement, troops of Joint Task Force (North East) Sector 1 conducted a surprise dawn operation on January 28, 2026, at Bula Dalo, where they neutralised more than 12 terrorists, forcing others to flee.
The statement said the operation led to the recovery of four AK-47 rifles, one PKT anti-aircraft gun, one rocket-propelled gun and one multiple grenade launcher.
It added that in a separate operation at the Garno terrorist camp, troops further degraded terrorist capabilities by neutralising six insurgents, destroying their life-support structures and recovering a large cache of PKT anti-aircraft ammunition and other items.
In a related development, the statement said troops of Sector 2 Operation Hadin Kai at Sabon Gari were confronted with an ISWAP attack supported by multiple armed drones in the early hours of January 29.
According to the military, although the terrorists briefly breached part of the defensive position, troops swiftly repelled the attack, held their ground and restored full control with reinforcements from nearby locations.
The statement noted that some soldiers and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force were killed during the engagement, while an excavator and a lowbed vehicle were damaged as a result of the armed drone attack.
It added that exploitation of the area was ongoing as operations continued to deny terrorists freedom of action.
The Military High Command commended the troops for their gallantry and urged them to remain vigilant and aggressive in dealing with terrorist threats.
