The Nigerian Education Loan Fund, NELFUND, has dismissed reports suggesting an increase in the monthly upkeep allowance for student beneficiaries, clarifying that the approved sum remains N20,000.
Director of Strategic Communications at NELFUND, Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, in a statement on Monday said the N25,000 figure being circulated in some quarters is inaccurate and does not reflect its current policy.
Oluwatuyi urged students to disregard such claims and rely solely on official communication channels for verified information.
NELFUND emphasised its commitment to transparency and efficient service delivery, noting that it remains focused on providing student-centred financial support across the country.
The agency also appreciated the cooperation of beneficiaries and encouraged students seeking further clarification to reach out through its official platforms, including email and verified social media handles.
