47 Aspirants Fail APC Screening as Ben Murray-Bruce, Ajimobi’s Son Miss Out

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released a list of 47 senatorial aspirants not cleared to participate in the party’s Senate Primary Elections ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Among the prominent figures on the list are former Bayelsa East Senator, Ben Murray-Bruce; Wasiu Adegboyega Ajimobi, son of late former Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi; former Rivers deputy governor, Ipalibo Banigo; businessman Tein Jack-Rich; and former Minister of Sports, Tamuno Danagogo.

The list was contained in a press statement issued on May 18, 2026 and signed by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.

Other aspirants affected by the screening outcome include Senator Usman J. Wowo from the FCT, former Bayelsa East Senator Benson Agadaga, and several contenders from Oyo, Rivers, Zamfara, Plateau and Nasarawa states.

The APC said the screening exercise was conducted by the party’s screening committees in line with established procedures and guidelines.
