speaking on KAFTAN TV’s, The Polity on Tuesday, dismissed suggestions that the governor was operating in the shadow of his predecessor. “Governor Ododo has assuaged tensions from the last election by sticking to his campaign promise of uniting the state. His policies, especially in agriculture and food security, are a departure from what was obtainable in the past,” Isah said.
Highlighting the administration’s tourism and mineral development agenda, the spokesman noted that the governor has focused on harnessing Kogi’s untapped potentials. He mentioned the successful hosting of the Kogi International Carnival and increased investor engagement in tourism as evidence of this shift.“Our tourism potentials are largely untapped.
The Ododo-led government has created a system to ensure the development of all sectors is interconnected, not isolated. With ongoing engagement with investors, the tourism sector is set for a take-off,” he added.Isah also disclosed that the administration is working to modernize community cultural festivals and events to showcase Kogi’s rich cultural heritage. On mineral resources, he revealed that the state government has adopted a fresh approach by seeking investors interested in establishing local processing facilities rather than exporting raw minerals.“We have about 32 minerals in commercial deposits across all local government areas in the state. Instead of mining solely for export, we are prioritizing factories and processing companies that will create jobs for our people. Recently, Governor Ododo met with the Chinese Consular General, and one key takeaway was solid mineral investments,” he said.As the administration approaches its one-year anniversary, Isah emphasized that the celebration would focus on gathering feedback from the people and identifying areas to build on for greater impact.
