The Federal Capital Territory and Kaduna State Police Commands conducted a joint patrol along the Jere-Abuja Highway on Monday, 22nd December 2025, to strengthen border security and ensure the safety of commuters and residents during the festive season.

The patrol, led by the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Miller Dantawaye, and his Kaduna State counterpart, CP Mohammed Rabiu, focused on Jere Community, a strategic border settlement that serves as a critical intersection for security operations and commuter movement.

Police Public Relations Officer of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, in a statement on Monday said the exercise forms part of ongoing efforts by both commands to address cross-border security challenges and reassure road users of safe passage, particularly during the holiday period when human and vehicular movements increase significantly.

“The exercise also formed part of a confidence-boosting operation aimed at reassuring residents, commuters, and road users plying the FCT – Kaduna highway of the unwavering commitment of both commands to ensuring safe passage, particularly during the festive season when human and vehicular movements increase significantly.”

The FCT Police Command urged members of the public to remain vigilant, cooperate with security personnel, and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the emergency lines: 08032003913 and 08061581938.
