The Nigerian Air Force, NAF, has carried out coordinated air raids against terrorist camps in parts of Borno and Katsina states, disrupting their operations and logistics.
The Air Force disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday by its Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.
According to the statement, the air strikes were conducted between 1 and 2 January 2026 across locations in the North-East and North-West, based on intelligence reports on terrorist movement and activities.
In the North-East, NAF aircraft struck terrorist enclaves at Abirma and Chiralia in the Timbuktu Triangle after surveillance confirmed the presence of facilities used for planning attacks and producing improvised explosive devices. The strikes destroyed the structures, with secondary explosions indicating the destruction of weapons and explosives.
Further air operations were carried out at Guva in the Mandara Mountains, where terrorist storage and coordination points were also hit, limiting their ability to regroup or launch attacks.
In the North-West, air raids were conducted around Karaduwa Giginya Na in Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State. Terrorists moving in large motorcycle convoys were tracked and engaged at a forest location. Several terrorists were neutralised, while motorcycles and weapons were destroyed.
Ejodame said the operations were aimed at denying terrorists safe havens across the country.
“These operations will continue with precision and professionalism to support troops on the ground and protect innocent lives,” he said.
