The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has commenced registration for candidates seeking admission into Nigeria Certificate in Education, NCE, programmes in Colleges of Education and Non-Technological Agricultural Programmes offered by polytechnics across the country.
Prospective candidates are advised to register at any Institutional Professional Registration Centre, IPRC, located in Colleges of Education or any JAMB Professional Registration Centre, PRC, nationwide, provided they possess the required O’Level credits.
According to a statement by JAMB’s Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin, the registration follows the Federal Government’s decision to waive the requirement for candidates seeking admission into NCE and Non-Technological Agricultural Programmes to sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.
The Board explained that it has put in place a robust admission process to ensure that only qualified candidates are admitted into the programmes, while maintaining and enhancing academic standards.
Under the new arrangement, eligible candidates are only required to visit any designated IPRC or JAMB PRC with their O’Level results to complete the registration process. They will not be required to sit for the annual UTME.
JAMB urged interested candidates to take advantage of the opportunity by visiting the designated registration centres in Colleges of Education or JAMB offices nationwide to complete their registration without delay.
The Board also disclosed that candidates who participated in the 2026 UTME but have decided to pursue NCE or Non-Technological Agricultural Programmes can convert their applications at any IPRC or JAMB PRC free of charge.
JAMB noted that the policy is designed to expand access to teacher education and non-technological agricultural programmes while preserving the quality and integrity of the admission process.
