Outgoing Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, has commissioned the Is-haq Oloyede JAMB Mega Professional Registration Centre, PRC, donated by the Borno State Government, describing it as a landmark investment that would enhance access to tertiary education across the North-East.
Oloyede, who was accompanied by the incoming JAMB Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, inaugurated the state-of-the-art facility built on a 5,300-square-metre site in Borno State.
The project, valued at over N1 billion, was funded by the administration of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum.
According to a statement signed by JAMB’s Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin, the ultra-modern centre is fully fenced and landscaped and is powered by a dedicated 300kVA transformer to ensure uninterrupted operations.
The main office complex comprises eight offices, three conference rooms, four registration areas and 16 convenience facilities.
It also houses two Computer-Based Test, CBT, halls equipped with 275 computers each, enabling the centre to accommodate 500 candidates per examination session and up to 2,000 candidates daily during examinations.
The facility further includes two spacious waiting areas with a combined capacity of 500 candidates, alongside six additional convenience facilities designed to improve the comfort of candidates awaiting their examination sessions.
The foundation for the project was laid by Governor Zulum on February 24, 2026, and was completed in less than six months, ahead of the timeline set by the state government.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Oloyede expressed appreciation to Governor Zulum for what he described as a monumental investment in education.
He said the facility would significantly reduce the challenges faced by admission seekers across the North-East and improve access to JAMB services in the region.
He also praised the governor’s unwavering commitment to educational development, noting that members of the JAMB delegation had visited some of the smart schools established by the Borno State Government and were impressed by the administration’s determination to make education a key pillar of development.
On his part, Aina also commended Governor Zulum for the strong partnership between the state government and JAMB, urging both parties to sustain the collaboration to further strengthen the Board’s operations and advance educational development in Borno State.
In his remarks, Governor Zulum reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritising education, describing it as the most effective tool for addressing the state’s social and economic challenges.
He disclosed that the state invested more than N1 billion in the construction of the mega CBT centre, stressing that its long-term educational benefits far outweigh the cost of the project.
