APC’s Tolu Bankole greets muslims on ramadan

Aare (Hon.) Tolu Bankole, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee, has extended his best wishes to Muslims in Nigeria and around the world as they begin the holy month of Ramadan.

In a statement on Friday, Bankole described Ramadan as a time of deep spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and devotion to Almighty Allah. He quoted the Qur’an, Surah Al-Baqarah (2:183):

“O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous.”

According to him, “This holy month presents an opportunity for us to purify our hearts, strengthen our faith, and renew our commitment to righteousness, justice, and service to humanity. It is a period to reflect on the virtues of patience, love, and kindness while reaching out to the less privileged in society.”

Bankole encouraged Muslims to draw inspiration from the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), stressing selflessness, humility, and compassion.

“As we observe this spiritual obligation, I urge all Muslims to take inspiration from the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who emphasized selflessness, humility, and compassion. Let us use this time to seek Allah’s guidance, pray for the peace, unity, and progress of our dear nation, and promote harmony among people of different faiths.”

He also highlighted the APC-led government’s commitment to an inclusive society, particularly for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), adding, “As a disability rights advocate, I reaffirm my dedication to advancing policies that empower Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) and all Nigerians.”

Bankole concluded by praying for divine blessings, saying, “May Almighty Allah accept our fasts, answer our prayers, and grant us the strength to complete this Ramadan with renewed faith and blessings.”

He wished all Muslims a blessed Ramadan.
