Fugar community holds culture finale as villages showcase potentials

The grand finale of the Fugar Cultural Festival 2022 holds today, Tuesday, December 27 with display of cultural presentations.

The festival, which is in its fourth edition, has as its theme, “Showcasing Our Cultural Values and Heritage.”

A statement by the Barth Ikiebe, chairman, Publicity and Marketing, quoted the chairman of the Planning Committee, Hon Solomon Obomighie, as saying in Fugar, headquarters of Etsako Central Local Government of Edo State, that 17 villages and branches of its socio – cultural groups in Nigeria and Diaspora are already on ground to present their best cultural display.
According to him, “Prizes will be given to the overall best cultural presentation among the villages and branches”.
Obomighie explained that the high point of the grand finale will be the unveiling and launching of the Fugar Heritage Artifact – the Agbazi, discovered in a London museum.

The five-day fiesta had earlier witnessed other cultural and exciting events like savouring Fugar local cuisines, age grade wrestling competition, camp fire nite, lecture/seminar and picnic visitation to two tourist sites.

The Fugar Cultural Festival is powered by the socio – cultural association, Fugar Progressive Union, FPU, in collaboration with the National Council for Arts and Culture, NCAC.
