APC reconciliation team to tour FCT Area Councils

The Unity and Reconciliation Committee, URC, of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, has announced plans to begin visits to all Area Councils next week.

This was made known during a meeting between members of the committee and the Minister of State for the FCT, Hajiya Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure.

The Minister expressed happiness over the committee’s readiness and described the visit as timely. She also praised the committee’s composition, noting that the members are experienced politicians who understand grassroots politics.

Chairman of the committee, Senator Usman Jibril Wowo, said the tour is aimed at identifying challenges in each Area Council and recommending solutions that will help strengthen the party ahead of the elections.

He stressed the importance of unity in the party, saying that the APC cannot afford to go into the polls with a divided house.

“We will meet with stakeholders, listen to their concerns and work towards resolving issues affecting the party in the FCT,” he said.

Senator Wowo added that the committee’s visit to the Minister was to carry her along in their plans, as she is a key leader of the party in the territory.

He urged party members to be open, civil, and honest during the engagements, assuring them that their concerns will be addressed.

“Our goal is to unite the party and ensure that the APC wins in the upcoming Area Council elections,” Wowo stated.

The reconciliation tour is expected to bring APC members together and position the party strongly for victory in the FCT.
