The National Emergency Management Agency has distributed relief materials to persons affected by recent banditry attacks in Kebbi State.
The Director-General of NEMA, Zubaida Umar, flagged off the distribution in Birnin Kebbi, covering victims in Shanga, Yauri and Bunza Local Government Areas.
Speaking at the event, Umar said the intervention was in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aimed at providing timely humanitarian support and ensuring the welfare of citizens.
She sympathised with the Kebbi State Government and affected communities, noting that the items were provided following an assessment of the urgent needs of the victims.
Umar added that the intervention demonstrates the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities impacted by insecurity.
Also present at the event was Alhaji Abubakar Umar, Wazirin Gwandu, who represented the Emir of Gwandu. He commended the Federal Government and NEMA for the prompt response.
The Wife of the Kebbi State Governor, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir, said the relief materials would provide much-needed support to the affected communities.
